DEFAÏENCE was founded in September 2021 by Nicola Bacchilega, a fashion designer with a background in ceramic sculpture, who bridges the gap between contemporary fashion and ancestral tradition. He's doing what no one else is doing: bringing the craftsmanship of Faenza ceramics into jewelry making.

Inspired by the designer's relationship with his former environment, DEFAÏENCE breathes new life into the heritage of Italian craftsmanship and the art of ceramics, creating avant-garde ready-to-wear garments and accessories.

At the heart of DEFAÏENCE's mission is a commitment to providing timeless products that combine craftsmanship and innovation. A pioneer in sustainable development, the brand implements industry best practices, ensuring that each creation reflects a harmonious balance between tradition and progress.

The DEFAÏENCE  jewelry collection embodies a genderless vision, offering a selection ranging from fine jewelry to lightweight pieces. Despite its young age, the brand has a recognizable style and a strong identity. It's so rare! Nicolas' inspiration comes from the trials of Faenza, mythology and the profound life philosophy of balance, adversity and triumphant rebirth.

Truly unique talent, Nicola translates his vision into a work of art not only through his creative ability, but also through his exceptional craftsmanship: he and his team transform ceramic designs into incredibly lightweight 3D-printed jewelry for ultimate comfort, alongside traditional handcrafted metal jewelry. Each piece is individually handcrafted, giving it a unique character and appeal.
